The writers festivals circuit looks a little different since Covid-19. It has become the norm to hold events online, even in lockdown free places like Victoria. Last year, we loved being able to escape our lounge rooms and go to writers festivals in faraway towns and cities from the comfort of our homes. But this year, we’re ready to go there in person!

The 2021 writers festivals in Victoria are a mixture of online and in-person events. To make things easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of all the upcoming events running in 2021 to help you organise your calendar.

Time to book your tickets!

Clunes Booktown Author Talks (1–2 May)

Clunes Booktown on Sunday (Third Sunday of every month)

Bendigo Writers Festival (6–9 May)

Queenscliffe Literary Festival (14–30 May)

Woodend Winter Arts Festival (11–14 June)

Our author Beth Wilson (author of The Lost Lovelies Foundation) will be a speaker at Woodend.

Alongside Dr Sally Cockburn, Beth Wilson will take a deep dive into the many medico-legal issues explored The Lost Lovelies Foundation, examining whether some victims’ desire for revenge is incompatible with healing, locking them into perpetual victimhood.

Don’t be put off by the seriousness of these issues. Sally and Beth are both funny and intelligent women who are not afraid to tackle difficult and sensitive topics including how to safely fictionalise these dilemmas.
